19 - 23 August a great medieval festival takes place in Montone, the "Castle of the Ram", to celebrate the Holy Thorn of Jesus Christ's crown wich was brought to the village as a present by Carlo Fortebracci. Montone evokes again the magnificience of Braccio Fortebracci's county in a joyful Atmosphere; the three wards Porta del Borgo, Porta del Verziere and Porta del Monte challenge each other reproposing scenes of medieval life and tournaments in order to conquer the "Palio" and the "Castellana". An impressive historical parade ends the celebrations. During the week, the street of Montone come to the XVth century, among the traditional sound and smells coming from the taverns04 August 2009
