The River Tiber

The River Tiber - Before becoming the river of Rome the Tiber flows "still golden" in a vast area of the province of Viterbo, going from Castiglione in Teverina to Civita Castellana passing on to Civitella d'Agliano, Bomarzo, Mugnano, Bassano in Teverina, Orte and Gallese.
Still "golden" as we said: with its banks covered with willows, cane thickets, poplars, ferns, sorghums and wild flowers where, at the moment of watering, one can meet horses, cows, hares, foxes and small squirrels, moles, beavers and water mice.
Glancing towards the sky you can see wonderful herons, white butterflies, water blackbirds, chaffinches, nightingales and the extremely rare fishmartins.
